ROLE

XR Prototyper, Designer and Developer in Unity

DESCRIPTION

The "Beyond Inclusion" scholarship program, a collaborative effort between XR Bootcamp, Unity, and Jobs for the Future (JFF), aims to increase diversity and inclusion in the XR industry by providing financial support and career development opportunities to underrepresented groups. 

* I was among the 50 best applicants selected from around the world.

* I finished and got certification of the first stage of the Bootcamp: Foundations. We had to implement difficult assignmentsfor VR in Unity and XR Toolkit.

* Around 30+ students passed the second stage of XR Bootcamp: Prototyping.  At this stage we had to implement 4 prototypes in VR or MR using XR Toolkit, Meta SDK or any other tools related to XR.

* One of my XR prototypes was chosen for the MVP stage. Also, participated in another MVP that was among the best of the Cohort.

PROTOTYPING STAGE: MVP

DESCRIPTION

For the prototyping stage, I participated in two MVP.

 

MVP 1: Futuristic Arena

Description: a turn-based combat in mixed reality, where you are the trainer of a mythical beast and you are present in the arena that you setup in a table of your dinning room, game room or anywhere you have real table.

Role: I was the creator of the idea, team lead, MR Developer in Meta SDK, Game Designer, created the narrative and game world. I used AI for generating the concept art, and some assets. We also had to face a conflict/challenge because the former  lead  and his project abandoned the XR Bootcamp due to personal reasons, therefore we had only a week to form a new the team and work together.

MVP2:  Physics War

Description: an mixed reality educational experience to teach you physics while immersing to medieval times and use medieval weapons understanding physics formulas. The game had two main features: training to use a weapon - a trebuchet, and a game-combat mode where you used several weapons to defeat your enemy in combat. You setup your real room as a combat space.

Role: Interaction designer, Unity developer using Meta SDK, Created interactive formula that you could poke to see how the values on variable affected the weapon, created interactive 3D menus, created level design for the game-challenge in sketches. Created destructible towers of different strength, VFX and SFX to make it more immersive, you could destroy it on several hits and you could see how it was set on fire, in the place of impact and then collapse on the last hit.

PROTOTYPING STAGE: PERSONAL PROTOTYPES

During 4 consecutive weeks, I had to propose an interesting idea and create a prototype for XR: VR, MR or AR. Although, teachers told us to focus more on MR.
